In 2002, the City of Guelph entered into an agreement with Lystek to implement a demonstration project at its wastewater treatment plant. Lystek THP was piloted at full-scale at the Guelph WWTP in 2004. The demonstration project successfully met and exceeded all of the objectives specified in the agreement, and as a result a second Module was installed to increase processing capacity on site.
The City took ownership of the system and began commercial operations in 2008.
