Lystek offers advanced treatment solutions for wastewater biosolids and similar organic waste materials from the industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors.

How it Works

Lystek THP is a patented physical-chemical thermal hydrolysis process utilizing high-speed shearing, alkali, and low-pressure steam injection.

The technology processes digested or undigested residuals into a multi-purpose hydrolyzed product with multiple benefits for full-cycle resource recovery.

The process disintegrates microbial cell walls and hydrolyses complex macromolecules into simpler compounds, creating a pathogen free, high solids (typically 13-16%), liquid product with low viscosity.

This product is fully pumpable using traditional liquid processing, handling, and application equipment.

One System, Multiple Benefits

Implementation of Lystek THP provides operational flexibility with multiple beneficial use options to enhance resource recovery. These include LysteGro®, a marketable Class A quality biosolids fertilizer, LysteMize®, a product for optimization of anaerobic digesters, as well as LysteCarb® , an alternative carbon source for biological nutrient removal (BNR) systems.

Integrating Lystek THP

The system has a small footprint and is simple to operate, modular, and flexible. Lystek THP can be easily integrated into existing WWTPs, typically at the end of the solids process train, with little to no disruption to other WWTP processes.

The Lystek THP Module is available in three standard sizes to meet your system design needs – LY3, LY6, and LY10. The modular design allows for easy expansion and integration, as future demand requires.

This process can be deployed as an on-site or off-site solution (regional facility) and is scaleable to service small, medium, and large generators.
